liberalized .fr registration conditions put registry in deep six..??

this was below the radar for alot anyway... but not enough to not have had an effect

.fr liberalized their registration conditions today and the amount of requests to the registry appears to have very much brought it to a standstill

anyone hear

Afnic from what I've seen is a joke, their tech department is equally clueless.

They registered less than 500 names (0-b) yesterday, some landrush.

It was not really a landrush as many registrars were offering to register names for you before that.
Some statistics from AFNIC: 223 registrars sent more than 61,000 demands for more than 41,000 distinct domains. 37,000 were accepted.
