Linux Redhat 9

I have just downloaded Linux Redhat 9 and am planning to use it for development purposes.

Has anybody got a list of recommended sites that list free applications for Linux? I would prefer all types of applications including mini-games, but plan to use the OS for development of websites more than anything else.

I have heard that Redhat 9 will cease to be supported this year, anyone else heard this?

I hope not, I haven't really researched the different Linux distributions properly. I have simply downloaded the most recommended by www.linuxiso.org.

Do you have any idea of what is one of the better distributions for development purposes.

trust my luck to get the distribution the same month that further development ends.

Don't worry about it. It doesn't really matter. A Linux distribution is just a collection of software. You can always update what you want manually.

As for Linux software, www.freshmeat.net is a good place to start.
