Very nice oxen , just ignore the DiscoCowboy and his 8 track player.

All Major ccTLDs are healthy and having good aftermarket sales, still early for .CN but nice to see some sales going through.

It is interesting to see that someone is selling some of the .cn

However, I don't think I would have paid that amount for London.cn

But, I guess we need to consider the relationship of UK and Hong Kong.

Can't believe that happened! .cn sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don's register any .cn names, CNNIC is the worst NIC on the net, they could delete your domains or transfer your domains to anyone else without giving you notice!!!!!!!!

Me and friends registered a few quality .cn names a couple of weeks ago ( HK.com.cn Shanghai.com.cn Hongkong.com.cn ShanDong.com.cn....) , CNNIC deleted them with no reasons, and they haven't refunded domain fees until now!! Note: These domains are not reserved, they just don't give them to you.

Recently I visited a Chinese domain profession forum (www.eachnic.com/club), all guys there agreed to stop registering any .cn names! Why? Because CNNIC is "state owned corp with bad(corruption) management. Now the Chinese domain market is big mess, domain investors don't know what they should sell. Currently there are four format domains in China : XXXX.cn - XXXX.com(net).cn - Internet Keyword and China Domain name(ÖÐÎÄ.cn), all available to register, so far, none of these successful.

From what I know these domains are reserved.
This is no reason for not refunding your fees.

Definitely reserved:

The CNNIC Registry has reserved certain names. These include:

Country names, 3-letter and ISO3166
Chinese Government organizations and leaders' names
Names that are for National Security
Province and City names
Special telephone numbers. (001), etc.
All gTLD's and some 2nd level spaces (biz.cn, kids.cn)
Certain famous trademarks (about 350)
Names labeled by the UN to promote world culture, heritage.
Chinese Universities and Colleges
News Media as approved by the National News Office

I hope your registrar will refund you.

You obviously don't know about the Chinese domain system, you'd better have a try.

.cn run by neustar, neustar also handle .us and .biz, neustar is also an American company. If you paid your reg fee with your visa then all you have to do is calling your visa company and cancel the charge. It is very simple !!

My summary of the .cn rules
No porn
No politics
No "recognized" place names
First in First served
Anyone anywhere can register
Locking is optional
If you change your mind within 2 days, you can cancel and get another name

Break the rules
Lose your money

I own about 10 - 15 cn. domains.

However, I plan to use them for my primary business which is international trade.

Some of the names I have

Housewares.cn
Bakeware.cn
USMarket.cn
DollarStores.cn
PlasticWare.cn
Plastics.net.cn
USBroker.cn
Meyer.cn
Meyer.com.cn

I can't remember the rest.

China will eventually become less corrupt over the next 5 years.
And, corruption in China has been drastically reduced over the past 10 years. It will take a change in generations to reduce that mindset.

If you have a primary reason to own the name. Then, keep them. But, don't think they will increase in value like a "prime" .com

No, I do not want to sell any of them.
