I have had a few names in dotcom where there were sites at the .net or other extensions. One was VarietyMotors.com....there was a site at VarietyMotors.net and VarietyMotors.us. Another was Microscripts.com, and there was a site at Microscripts.net.

I am looking for similar names in dotcom. It often happens that after trying to sell to the logical end-user at the worse-site, the dotcom holder puts himself into a corner (probably because he/she asked for too much). This can create bad blood and the prospects of a sale at any price go way down.

Sometimes a fresh approach from a new registrant will work, and that is why I am looking for names.

Another name I had was StoryHome.com, and there was a site at TheStoryHome.com. So, any name that is by definition better than the one that someone else is using, I will look at. You get the point.

Names at Go-Daddy are prefered. Price them right. It is obvious that you haven't been able to pull off the sale so far, so make it a fair price. When I Google the name and see the similar business, I will assume that you already swung and missed on your attempted sale.

Send some names. All price ranges will be considered, from big business, to Mom and Pop one man show type names. The bottom line is that you have a name that is better than a name that is being used on a legitimate site.

If any traffic and revenue at all, please mention, or I will assume little to none.

Keep sending. I am getting some decent names. Keep in mind, my idea of fair domain dealing is selling a name for a price that you yourself would actually play if you did not own it.

Far too often, people are thinking that this is End User Forum, and not Dn Forum. If you would never in a million years pay close to the price you are asking, then I'm not so sure why you think it is fair to try to pull one over on a buyer at Dn Forum.

Think of that, and also think of what you could get for the name if you listed it here today. If you can't get $200 today at Dn Forum, then I'm not interested at $1,000. It doesn't make sense to me, but most people are overrating their names.

If you have had the name for years and can't sell it for any price, that does not make it worth $1,000 to me. You can keep trying, but it won't work. If you are selling a name at a price where the buyer has a reasonable chance at making a profit with the name at some point, then you are on the right track.

Trying to sell worthless names that took zero creativity to register will not create a sale. Now, if you sell a name that has real value, where you actually have to think about how much it is really worth, then you will feel a little seller's remorse when you sell. Everything else is attemped robbery as far as I am concerned. It is dreaming, and it is basically pulling numbers out of thin air and crossing your fingers.

Think about what you are selling. Get to the price where you are selling a name that at least has the value you are looking for. That is good business. Sell a product that you would buy yourself.

Keep sending....getting lots of good names and lots of horrific names. Most of the good names are priced irrationally, since if I bought them today and listed them here at Dn Forum I couldn't get anywhere near what you are asking.
