Lots of unique traffic (450+ per day) but 0 CTR

Recently picked up oilschool*.*com and was pleasantly surprised to find an average unique hit rate of 485 per day or an estimated monthly average of 14,000 uniques per month. This good news was quickly burst by the fact that the Way Back Machine showed this to be residual traffic from a former Chinese social networking site that was originally registered in 2000. Thus my quandary how do I use or convert this traffic into revenue? I have it parked with Fabulous and aimed for social internet activity ads but I’m still getting a 0 CTR. It makes since, because the traffic is originating from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comffice:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">China</st1lace></st1:country-region> and my page is in English. Any ideas to help monetize this domain name would be appreciated. Have not found a parking company that caters to Chinese… Ideas?

Use keywords like anime, games, video, internet etc. Good luck. Chinese traffic is a wild beast.

I think there is a big hole in the parking industry if they only cater to English content/ads. I see a lot of opportunity in traffic from defunct foreign sites. Keep the ideas coming. One minor tweak on the site earned me $.68 yesterday or it was a pity click by someone on the forum... lol<o></o>

Namedrive.com serves up foreign language ads, but you need to put a foreign language keyword to trigger them. They also have some headers and templates that are targeted to that market.

That being said, there are not a lot of "paying" ads that may appeal to this or any audience available. You may target a keyword but get whatever is available for ads. Click thru for Chinese has been horribly low...1-5%, and payouts at about .01. Getting this far in the last year for Chinese was just the first step...I believe things will improve over the next year or two as more players enter the market and advertisers discover the power of the internet for targeted traffic.

The good news on that front is Japanese language ads are paying average of .15 at this same point in time. Some ads pay over $ 1.00, particularly medical or real estate related.

Over at namedrive try the template called "Electronics" or "Electronics Blue", set ads on "Electronics" or "Internet" and keyword "vcd" (English for Video Compact Disk). If you get only English ads, you might try keywords 视频 video, or symbols for "computer-video games" in Chinese.
