What's the point?

Instead of giving him 150 years, at least 130 of which he'll never have to serve, why don't they say 25 years but he has to wear shoes 2 sizes too small for him, or 25 years and the only meal he gets is the same one morning noon and night everyday.

yeah put 150 in the title but cut it off in the post...

Jasdon, looks like the judge trying to send a message to everyone since it was such a high profile case...they calculated his life expectancy to be about 12 years.

Hmm, your last 12 years of life for decades of screwing people and destroying their lives while living the very high life.

Not much of a punishment if you ask me.

How much of a punishment it is depends on where and how he serves his remaining years.

Hopefully it will be hard time.

Twelve years in an iron maiden, drawn and quartered, and followed by an eternity in hell might be appropriate. We can only hope he suffers every bit as much as those he wronged.

The man did a lot of dirt but I would not wish anyone to go to hell even murders. Life in prison is fine but hell is worst than hating anybody

The Feds discovered an acct with $76 mil belonging to Ruth Madoff, the wife.
She claims she earned all that money.
Woody Allen used to say: My brain is the second most favorite organ. And so my q to Ruth:
With which part of your body did you earn that dough?

People who trusted this man also face a life sentence of trying to cope with their loss.

If you really want to punish this guy, they should put in him with the general prison population, But my guess is Bernie's lawyers already made sure that wont happen.

He's likely going to serve his time in a minimum security facility with other non-violent offenders.

The old crook is probably laughing his a$s off wondering why it took everyone so long to figure the whole thing out....this is of course after he has lived the very high life for as long as he can recall.....smart guy. He won't live much longer imo, I give him a few years max.

You meant to say "It's guaranteed", not chances are good, right? ;)
I mean, think about it.
He was smart enough to fool incredible #s of people for long long time.
He had all those years to prepare.
