make-me-an-offer.com

I've just reg'd this, and it's such an obvious name that I'm surprised that it was still available. Am I missing something here? Is it really valueless?

I'm not interested in type-ins, overture or Google ranking. It's main purpose is to go into domain registration details and other places to indicate that the item may be available for sale. The hyphens are great because it makes the phrase easier to read.

Actually overture gives the phrase 135.

You're kidding right? A four word name with THREE hyphens and you have to ask if it's valueless?

I don't think it's valueless you see. Think of the alternatives that people use.

Using addresses like these

This Domain
may be
for sale

email: [email protected]

This is an invalid entry also, when includes in domain details

using @make-me-an-offer.com is a valid address and hits you immediately you look at the details. Nearly as good as a banner ad :D

hehe.

It is definitely worthless, however, use it as an email adress if you wish

Highlight email address with left mouse button
Right click on mouse
Select copy
Open a new message in your email program
Right click mouse in the To: box
Select paste.

I do it even of the domain is 2 characters :D

I'm glad you guys are so myopic, it leaves a few domains for me to help with my marketing.

btw. I got offered £25 for it by an end user that came here this pm.

Don't forget forsalebyowner.com either.

It has some value, to be used as a nameserver in a domain name (just like BuyDomains uses this-domain-for-sale.com as a nameserver in many of their domain names). Limited, though....maybe $50 tops.

well I've decided to develop it, and I'm quite enthusiastic about it.

I'll post the link when the DNS resolves, then you can all rush out and copy my idea.
(with an inferior name of course :D).

Looks as if you'll have to get an english dictionary Mudfence.

I don't understand the market rating bit - "make me an offer" seems to be a fairly common phrase at the markets I've been to.

There was an interesting point made on Sheepster - without the hyphen the phrase is " make mean offer " I expect that would get a higher score as it's only 3 words. :D

The dictionary that is used by DNA doesn't count words that are connected by a hypen unless its a term like aero-space.

Thats where you get penalized by the hypens.
The domain is worthless. Not even worth the reg fee.
No big deal. We've all regged a dud or two.

Cheers!

I actually thing it is a great marketing tool and I wouldn't sell it for $250. I'd think about it for $1,000 though. I'm amazed that nobody else can see the potential.

Just to be able to use it like this is worth more than reg fee

http://www.dimedomains.com/

Not all links work on this site as I am in the midst of moving all my trading sites to a new host.

I agree that the name without the hyphen is of minimal value, but with the hyphen - it rocks !

Why would they end up there through clicking on my link?

makemeanoffer.com is no good (who admits to making a mean offer)

MAKE-ME-AN-OFFER.COM rocks.

the hyphens are essential for visual impact.

Because return visitors don't use links, they type it in.

You will lose 90% of your traffic to the non-hypnenated, even with one hyphen, and you have 3

If you're going to develop, make an offer on the non-hyphenated. Otherwise, let it drop.
