I think it was only for photos with a url superimposed on it. In the past Facebook said they are using our photos for reviews etc.. They won't stop urls in posts because that would disrupt their ads business big time.

Edited: I feel stupid because I think I got that info from your article on domaining site. Forgot to check for the "this article is 100% true"

But I do see it as a good possibility.
