Hi,

I'm just wondering what software do you guys use to manage your domains? I seem to have collected nine or ten different registrars and with all the expiration notices, it's getting difficult to manage.

thanks.

If you don't want to run software on your machine every
day check out my new service (launched 2 days ago).

www.Whois-Monitor.com

Bottom line, you input up to 50 domains and it will monitor the
Internic whois status (expiration date, creation date, status,
registrar, etc).

Click on view myMonitor and you will see all of your domain names
with the Creation/Expiration dates and status. If a domain name
is close to expiration its info will be in red.

I put it on all of my domains as well as domains I have Snaps
on. I received an alert from the system yesterday for a domain
I was watching (and had a snap on). SnapNames still has not
alerted me of the change so I have a snap on it even though
it's ACTIVE.

Thanks Stuff, DNR, I'll check into both a bit later.

Domain-Retriever -- You mentioned 50 domains for your service, any plans to raise that number?

Thanks again!

Sun-tzu,

The 50 domain package is the most basic package. It's only
$10/month.

You can actually monitor up to 1,000 domain names (and
if you customize up to 10,000 on your own dedicated server).

1,000 domain monitor package costs $50/month and if you
need more, we can set that up as well.

Best of luck!

I manage them in a SQL database so that I can enter them once and perform queries/run reports etc. Currently over 350 domains.

Timechange,

Does your sql db actually monitor the names for you or do you need to run reports daily?

Thanks in advance.

Since it's a mySQL database I can add a crontab entry to do whatever I like :D

You can do it the old fashion way with Excel. But, you need to know how to ask the right question of the domain list.

However, I am actively pushing all my domains into one of my Enom accts. If it is with another registrar, I just put another year on the domain and transfer it to Enom.

I am sure I have lost some domains over the years by having them scattered. So, I am elliminating that problem.

Watch My Domains pro from softnik.com - useful program.

I'm using it at the moment to find out where the 200 or so domains are registerd that I had with domainredirect.com for their free redirection (now not free :( ).

The benefit of having them on a non-linear medium, such as a database:

Speed of reporting
Reports in a multitude of ways, e.g. by TLD/Expiration range/Registrar
Ability to add/edit/delete individual records without worrying about the order.

I wrote a Cold Fusion-based utility to manage all of my domains, using a MS Access backend.... you can see the basic pricing screen part of this utility by clicking on one of the links in my sig file.
