Hi,

I think this was discussed here before, so just checking if there's something new.

Anybody here knows about a registrar that allows the self deletion (and issues a refund) of newly registered domains (within their first 5 days as allowed by Verisign) ? I'm refering to the option to delete the domain myself, without having to contact their support team.

TIA,
Idan

I only know of DotRegistrar. You can delete domains there within 3 days of registration, but I don't think they'd like it if you used that option often.

Thanks for the reply Toasty.

I really think it's a good idea for registrars. I don't even mind paying $1 fee for each deletion. I think on the bottom line it will increase the total number of registered domains. In some cases (if a deletion fee is involved) I think the registrar can earn more from a deleted domain than from a kept domain.

The only question is - will it piss off Verisign ?

Last I heard Bulkregister does this, though anything can change.

On one hand, it's convenient. On the other hand, given the reality not too
many people even have basic knowledge of domain names and just let others
do it for them, I wouldn't give those people that power.

It depends on the market, of course. Any of those managing registrars here
care to comment?

CNOBIN Provide the self-deletion service, which cost $1 per domain name within 3 days of registration.
