Mass emails are never a good thing. But a few targeted emails could be helping both you and a potential buyer. Using Google Sponsored links is a good way to find out who is paying for what search terms. Here is an example: "Investment Planner"

http://www.google.com/sponsoredlinks?q=investment+planner&btnG=Search+Sponsored+Links

Keep the amount of emails to a reasonable number and ask a reasonable price and you should be alright. Apologize for any intrusion. I don't do this too often, but have never had a complaint.

Honestly, other than a few xx,xxx sales, I've sold only one hand regged domain through emails.

Maybe I wasn't persistent enough, maybe my emails landed in the wrong inbox, but found the entire act of looking up domain owners and emailing them to be very dull and boring.

True. It is a lot of work. Makes sitting and waiting for inquiries desirable. Sometimes they don't come as readily, so you go in search. These economic times are difficult on buyers as well as sellers.

Exactly. I'd much rather develop out my domains and hope to earn even a dollar a day from Adsense than spend my time emailing random leads.

This thread is quite old. There are much more tools available to the domainer
now. Though cold emails still work, one should be careful when sending multiple
emails to potential endusers. I closed on one of my biggest sales a few weeks
ago to NBC. But I had to do alot of tracking to find this particular prospect's
contact info.
