I just noticed that Massdrop, a site I am subscribed to their emails has changed to Drop.com as their domain and Drop as their brand.

Glad to see that even within the industry, there is still an understanding that a good short domain name trumps some odd mashup of letters or a longer version of a similar domain. A little reassurance there.
