I could never picture myself placing a 5,000 bid on a name let alone 10,000 but I guess if it was worth 50,000 a call to my bank manager might be worth it

Well, if namewinner did get it, I guess snapnames better wake up. They tell everyone that 2 letter domains will not be available anymore if they drop.

Supposedly, the maximum bid at Namewinner is 10K.

I wonder how the bidding was able to go over 10K?

The key word in that sentence is "Your", domains. Others have higher maximum allowed bids, based on their past history of bidding at NameWinner, and their credit-worthiness. There were a bunch of phony bids a few weeks ago, so they implemented that policy, which has helpd a bit.

You can always email them to ask for a higher limit, if you need it.
