From TechCrunch
"Make no mistake. The cute comic book and the touchy-feely talk about user experience is little more than a coat of paint on top of a monumental hatred of Microsoft.

Chrome, the Webkit-based Google browser that launches tomorrow at Google.com/chrome, will give them a real foothold on the desktop and way more control over how web applications perform..."

"Expect to see millions of web devices, even desktop web devices, in the coming years that completely strip out the Windows layer and use the browser as the only operating system the user needs. "

I'm wary about this, considering the number of people who love to install Google desktop (coughcoughspywarecoughcough) on their work PCs, I can just imagine dozens of tickets this week that this won't work.

Is this beginning of so called cloud computing?
I do not want to rely too much on Google.

And they don't even know they've installed it. Not to mention the google updater, and toolbar notifier. I've removed these as a matter of course on hundreds of clients computers, and not a word that anyone has noticed it (them) missing.
