Agree with you 100%. Lot of Trademark issues. We may never know what they will come up with. :upset:

Sucks to be that company, but then again if you're going to poke the bear you better make sure you have a gun handy.

Fu** multibillion dollar corporations! Accumulation of such wealth within one company is never good for consumers. I never like their win!

It was silly to use a trademarked name in the product. Kind of a slap in the face to make them pay legal fees though.

good for publicity- all they (unicaresoft) have do now is press release to what they renamed the product ( of course while keeping moaning about the case)

..

p.s. not too bad for a company created few months ago

Turn it into a generic term by listing it in more dictionaries...........

MS needs to go after many more sites then. Just Google MSN(adultkeyword).com the first dozen or so I did all came up with active sites.

So Microsoft is showing that they do not like being represented by child-safety software but don't mind being represented by XXX sites (including many of questionable ethics).

its like bully in schools , big kid picking on small kids for $5 , $10 the kid got on his pocket as there are thousand other sites using the work MSN in their sites . In one way the company can profit pretty good too , i agree with domain newbie , all they have to do now is press release with the new name , well paying the legal fee was slap on their face as they are new company :veryangry::upset:

I don't understand these big companies. What exactly is the point of suing others "here and there" that have the name "MSN" in a domain name that aren't even related to Microsoft? I mean, if they'd pull the the .com zone files of the millions of registered .com domain names, and do a search on the keyword "MSN", they'd come up with THOUSANDS of websites.

I never understood companies for doing this, but that's just me. I think one time is okay to set an example, but other than that...

The legal fee was originally intended for the defendant's software marketing and advertisement.

Bill Gates should be kissing that lady's feet!
Here she was trying to actually do something NICE for the community...unlike Microsoft who just care about abolishing XP.

This is disheartening.
Not cool!
