Microsoft managed to register / buy? a lot of the bing ccTLDs. (for example .de, .fr, .ru, .dk, .co.uk...)

wwwbing.de was registered today, so the typosquatters are getting ready as well

MS has also bought bingit.com - I noticed back in 2007. They must have had this planned a good while ago.

My domains always come up better in live.com than goog - hope it stays that way with bing.com.

I do think a good ad campain will get a lot of people to switch. Many newbies are afraid of the term google.

Our own DNF Member Actnow is the owner of the .info of this domain... hopefully he'll make some nice bucks on a sale! I did well with WII.info, after getting a bunch of offers when the WII was announced.

They should have used the domain "Juice.com" they own that they bought out from under a fellow DNF'er when it was for sale CHEAP. Juice.com would be a fantastic name for them to use instead of the bing.com domain...they are much better suited to a site about a certain cherry with bing.com lol

hope the guy that owns .info does well, but i agree with Focus... juice.com sounds like a better search name... i could say some awful juice/search related slogan here but i won't!

the more i think about it, bing.com sounds like it should be an adult name!

What was wrong with Live.com? I simply don't understand MS anymore when it comes to search. What in the hell are they doing other than looking really stupid? They crashed and burned with Live.com so hard, they felt they needed a rebrand? Forget the "brand" people, focus on better search results.

Exactly. They have NEVER figured out how to get relevant results. Hell, they could do better with a copy of lucene. I actually think yahoo has some of the best actual results out there, possibly even better than the big G. Of course, they don't have the market share, and google doesn't take 10 seconds just to load all the ads when you go to their page. This is what everyone else seems to overlook. The whole reason people started using google was it was a fast page to load with relevant results. And the rest is history.

Just checked out their video over at bing.com. First problem I see, again they are using high digital photos as the background of the engine. Hopefully that is optional. That is the killer with Yahoo, the interface has too many graphics, needs to be scaled way down. MSN can't understand something that simple?

I agree with South,

[1] Speed
[2] Results

It's like Live.com Images, it's better than Google Images, but way slower. So I use Google Images instead.

they will be throwing $80M in advertising at this.
i'm sure the name was a little more thought out than you may want to believe.
