I would like to know if Moneybookers is safe for US buyers? Lets say I purchase domains from someone, pay through money bookers, and the person tries to retract the domains for whatever reason (scamming) ~ am I protected? Can I get my money back if this happens?

I am buying some domains from someone on another forum and they just joined and have a few domains for sale that I would like to buy.

Please let me know asap, greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,
-Mike C!

MB does not allow chargebacks, unlike paypal. Unless the payment was fraudulent (stolen card etc). So it is a good thing for the seller :) They also have an escrow option which can be a good thing for domain transactions... check it out.
MB is quite reputable and I think they are more popular in Europe.

As a seller it's perfect. I try to use it in every transaction on every forum I'm selling something no matter how big or small. They're fast, reliable and more popular in Europe because paypal is not supported in many countries today. MB is widelly supported.

Of course there are many cases like with paypal where people complain about many things but that's impossible to avoid.

I got my first promo from moneybookers today.

They state they are accepted on ebay, a big selling point for them.

They also claim to be cheaper than PayPal. The biggest monetary break comes after the $3,000.00 mark where they are 1% lower than PayPal

Use them for 2 years. Did not have any problem,

all depends on who is paying, if they dispute you are not protected with any other payment gateways either,

Can you explain this? Unclear what this means.

I am purchasing a few domains from someone on another forum who just joined. He has sent me the domains already and I have locked them in my account. I have to wait for my money bookers account to get verified (just opened it a few hours ago) and then I am going to send him payment sometime this week as it takes 2-5 business day (we agreed on this). I just want to make sure that if for some reason after I send payment and he decides to retract the names, that I can file a dispute to retract payment. Obviously, I am just being paranoid here, but would like to know for present and future reference.

I figured I am safe since the domains are already in my account and locked, but I was looking up info on this and see thats not the case considering they can claim it was a fraudulent push on the domains and get them back and keep the money with money bookers. I am paying xxx for each one of these, so I would like to make sure... worst case scenario, I push them back and forget about the deal, but I really like the domains and would really like to buy them, but I don't want to get scammed either..

The domains are registered at Name.com if this makes a difference.

Thank you,
-Mike C.

If I have the domain in my possession, they are all locked, after I send payment, do I have anything to worry about? I have searched the domains and they don't seem to be stolen, that was my biggest concern... I searched as a group, individually, etc. Looks like he has owned the domains for quite some time.

Tomorrow my Moneybookers account should be verified, but I just want to make sure I am good before I send him any money, other wise I am just going to transfer back the domains to avoid any future problems.
