I am trying to initiate a transfer from enom to moniker. Instead of sending the Moniker Auth Code to the Registrant Contact or the technical contact, moniker system sent the Moniker Auth Code to [email protected]. So I am not able to get the code that is sent from moniker. Is that a bug or what?

Try to ignore the code from Moniker. Just use the EPP code from Enom and leave the other one blank.

I havent tried that way yet.

At the moment when its an enom domain most of them have that enom email catch all requests. So I send an email straight to support [at] moniker.com with my account number, the domain name, the epp code. ask to transfer in and its done for me.

Moniker's saved me alot of trouble with enom and its gang resellers.

Good luck

The thing trhat freaks me out about transferring from enom (apart from the email address in the whois) is the way that you have to authorise the transfer, going to an unsecure link from an email, that doesn't even have any information about the transfer such who is the gaining registrar.

As long as we are administering your domain, we will be listed as your domain's admin and technical contact - as we are.
So, all other registrars are not administring your domain:?:

It's surprising how much John looks like Johnny Depp. Is John really the dark talented actor, JD?

Moniker has a habit of sending out a lot of bizarre emails that have nothing to do with the reality of what you're trying to accomplish. However, they are recognized as big auctioneers of domains, so if you aren't in that camp, FORGET YOU!@@#$%$%^^

just kidding. Moniker is a great registrar. I am transferring most of my domains from Enom to Moniker myself. If you're looking to change to a great registrar with good prices and customer service, not to mention domain management features, moniker is it. PM me if you want my top notch Moniker service rep. I will hook you up, and he will personally manage your account if you have 100 domains or more. You will be happy, and that's my guarantee as a domain consultant to the stars.

My email, my phone arent even in the whois under registrant.. the only easy contact is an advertisement to use them as a registrar/webhost under my tech and admin. I can't get my epp code, can't unlock my own domain. and have tried since around november to transfer this domain out. I am my own admin, and I am my own tech. I'm sorry but I have no control of my domain with that outfit.

Sorry I went off-topic here (kinda). I had to reply.

This was happening with frequent regularity with GoDaddy. I was getting emails from auth codes for domain names I did not own and did not sell.

When I would contact GoDaddy they would respond with some BS email where I had to state the nature of my business again in between some lines!

I ignored them and eventually they went away...the emails too.

No, I'm talking about you, Johnn. You look just like Johnny Depp. The likeness is amazing.

How did you obtain the domain? Out of the basket, expired through Snap or pool, or through a 3rd party?

If you got it through snap or pool, contact them and complain. They'll put somebody on their ass to get the domain out for you.

That is freaking scary. I like the registrars that don't indicate anywhere that you can obtain the EPP code, and some even require that you have a SECOND password to obtain the code, and that you set that password when you created the account. In orderr to get the second password, you have to send them all sorts of identification, business papers, etc.

There are so many joke registrars (even a few of the big ones). We're going to address that at the Domain Roundtable Conference in August.

No, I'm talking about Monte Cahn, Victor Pitts, Albert Michaels and some of the more focused CS people at moniker.

REmember, they're deep in the TRAFFIC event right now, and prepping for that for weeks beforehand. I rag on them all the time for various things... even though they interviewed me on Domainmaster radio late last year and I tell my clients to park with them.

Here's the rub -- there isn't any "perfect" registrar, and that has to be addressed in a community forum, where most the reps from the registrars will be there. Domain Roundtable, we let the "noise" in... (back in the horse and buggy days, they tried to ban automobiles because they were "noisy, darnblasted, confarned contraptions"). Noise is relevant, wouldn't you say?

Posting about your problems on DNforum is a good start, and a good way to create noise.

keep it up or PM me for help.
