I've got 900 domains offline right now. Moniker.com and SnapNames.com are both down as well. Anyone else experiencing this?

Moniker is actually up. But their dns servers are down.

Here's an IP of theirs: 208.73.210.52

At least some ARIN info: http://whois.arin.net/rest/net/NET-208-73-208-0-1

I would not go changing your dns servers through the IP link though. If moniker can't be located by the rest of the worlds nameservers, they couldn't get any dns changes anyway.

Moniker.com phone support is closed? WTF? This is totally unacceptable.

I've got 900 domains hosted with a company who has no phone support...

We have thousands of domains currently off-line; the core of our business.

Does anyone know of a reliable registrar with tools which allow for the BULK setting of URL forwarding and URL framing?

Enom has free URL forwarding and URL framing, but, the last time I looked, each domain must be set separately.

Thanks much,
David

Moniker, and URL Forwarding and Framing, are back up and running from here.

However, still interested in other registrars. This is far too costly.

Thanks.

Added: A communication to customers explaining the rationale, either during or after the outage, would have been helpful to foster confidence.

What do you guys expect?

Moniker

(a) removed our special pricing (reads as "doesn't want domainers anymore")

(b) lies if you ask questions to their support (and getting lied to by "Senior Customer Support" is nothing I appreciate and yes, it's not a "could be a lie", it was a "straight lie into my inbox")

(c) never had a 100% working system, email forwards are known to have regular outages just to give one example

(d) still doesn't offer outgoing transfer speedups (reads as: they hold your domain for 5 days for no reason, no link to accept them for transfer, nothing)

(e) wants us to pay more and more for less and less

I moved away with almost every single domain a while ago, only use them if I buy domains and get them pushed before I transfer away in "their own pace"..

We are in business, they are not (anymore, remember the days Monte took care of issues, that was great! but, that was in the past... )

PS: Yes, bulk changes is something others lack, but then, I run my own DNS, so no issue for me. Like it was said before, getting a professional DNS provider for your domains or host DNS by yourself is the way to go.

With all that said, those that stay at Moniker deserve this type of service issues.

Move or continue expect this from them.
