Can you use Moniker's email forwarding without using their name servers? Support docs say you can't, but it looks like all that happens when you do use their name servers is they add mxforward.moniker.com as the MX record for a domain. So if email forwarding is enabled for a domain, will this still work if the DNS is hosted elsewhere and you simply add that MX record?

Yes, you can host your website anywhere and use any separate email provider - as you say, it's the MX records in the zone that define the email service.

Hi,

email forwarding does require the use of Moniker name servers. We are here to assist 7:00am-8:00pm EST M-F and 8:00am - 6:00pm EST Sat/Sun. Or please open a case through your account portal.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Best Regards,

Marti
