I haven't been to China yet (as there is a complicated visa process), but can relate my experience of the closely related hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. If you don't want a knockoff Gucci bag for your wife, you may want a knockoff Omega watch, if you don't want a bag or watch, you may want a custom tailored suit. If you don't want any of their products, they offer marijuana and hashish and give out a business card.

Drug dealing is a profession in Hong Kong with nicely dressed (knockoff suits and watches) Indian's and South American's everywhere.
