Appraisals don't really mean anything, and it gets difficult when you start talking about high quality domains. If I owned "Sex.com", I wouldn't sell it for a billion dollars.

Yeah, look at what has sold. The highest ones before fall(?) 2000 were: Loans.com for $3 million, WallStreet.com $1.03 mil, eFlowers.com $1 mil, Express.com $2 mil, Autos.com $2.2 mil, Wine.com $3 mil, Business.com $7.5 mil, Altavista.com $3.25 mil.

I think to be clear, you'd want to specify non-TM'd names. Even names like ABC.com have the most value to one company.
