I have a 3 letter premium acronym .net. I noticed that I've been getting a lot of traffic from Thailand and Singapore and finally I found that a big industry site is linking a big Singapore international company with those letters to MY domain, instead of the correct one with the .sg

My question is, should I let this continue for a while and then approach the company thats incorrectly linked to see if they want to buy it?

Or should I contact the site that's linking incorrectly to me and tell them?

I want to sell this domain. I think the other company can afford to buy it and would be a good fit since the acronym IS their acronym and they refer to themselves with it all over their site.

Thanks for the insight

for the reasons you gave and since you apparently are not doing anything with the domain, then that could be deemed as evidence by that company to point the finger at you for being a squatter.

especially if you approach them.

keep that in mind

Thanks. I've had the domain since 1998 and it has been in use and still is, and it has nothing to do with what they do.

Ah, Singapore :D My 1st domain sale (ever!) was to a company in Singapore whose domain name was "*****metrix.com" vs. my "*****matrix.com".

I was getting traffic (and emails!) meant for them and after a while I asked them flat out if they were interested in buying it, which they did.

So, given the circumstances of your newly found traffic source, you can write up a nice email, explain that you get "unwanted" traffic and that you have owned the domain for the past 10 years. You might be pleasantly surprised; Singapore is very tech-savvy and companies with international presence are quite rewarding.
