hi

is it possible to have 2 forums phpbb or vbullitin running through the same mysql database or would this cause problems?

It would be really easy to do this with cpanel. Depends how much SQL databases your host allows.

Log into your control panel . Mysql Databases . Enter Database Name . Create Database . Create an user . Add user to that database .

i think im only allowed one mysql database with my package

I suggest moving to another hosting company. 1 my SQL database is by far not enough.

Yes it is possible, just prefix your vbulletin and phpBB tables with something different.

Its pretty simple, If you are planning to install phpBB, vBulletin or Invision Board, the installer will ask you for the prefix name during installation. Just make sure to specify different prefix names for each installation.
