To those of you who have any "google" related names parked at ND.

This is the message on their page

"Unfortunately, as directed by our advertising partner, all names infringing on the Google trademark in any way will have no ads served from NameDrive effective immediately. If you feel your domain is not a Google mistype and has been wrongly affected, please contact us at [email protected]. We apologize for the inconvenience."

unfortunately, i did not check my account until today, and i saw that there was no revenue or visitors counted since 06/15/06 for 2 names that fall under this policy! If i had not logged into my account, i would never have known!

ND and their customer service get an "F" grade for not taking the time to at least send out general notices via email of this policy.

I am considering moving all names from ND after this. I don't fault them for discontinuing to serve ads, but I do fault them for not notifying me, as I could have moved the names sooner to avoid any losses in stats.

ND....you slipped :(

Well, its not their problem if you were making money with Google TM. You are at fault, they did nothing illegal.

Ummm no! :censored:

They should be professional enough to send an email emails to their customers as Bigge explained.

At the same time i was making money, they were and still are, making money from the domains that are parked there.

The issue is about notifications, courtesy and respect.

Maybe, but when rules change it nice to know.
I know they don't have to.
I have read many a TOS agreement that say this "Terms may change at any time, so check back often....blah..blah..."

NameDrive is known for having such a great reputation.
This is the "small" stuff, the "details" of what makes the difference between a good company and a GREAT Company....that's all.

I think we just expect more from them.

To be honest I expected it, and I just accept that I had a good ride with my questionable google domains. ;-)

But Yeah, some sort of email notification would of been a courteous touch but would not of changed the situation, as the other programs are or have followed suit.

Hi Guys,

I'm sorry that an email was not sent out on this. To be honest, this is the first time we've had to undertake something like this and we believed this was the quickest and most direct way of informing people, as we know that most of you check your stats daily, hourly, often more frequently than people check their email. We wanted to get the word out as quickly as possible without sending a mass email and thought this would suffice. Clearly, you guys think it didn't so we know to handle this differently in the future.
We do, as people know, accept nearly every kind of name - excepting child pornography for our own personal (and Google's) reasons and now Google typos - as directed by them.
Sorry for any inconvenience. Feel free to email me if you have any issues you'd like to raise.

I doubt there was a need to send mass E-mail. Only E-mail to the people having Google related domains parked at NameDrive to inform regarding the issue.

I use parked, and they have a systen in place that if they can not monitze a name, they will redirect it to another provider. Why not use that sort of system? It would help get such names out of your service and sent to other places.

Example, I plan on developing this name, but currently it is parked, but Yahoo does not allow it, so it is going to ProjectChristmas.com instead. Googleadsense.org

I must agree with biggedon and others. If we work together - as we really do as domain investors with parking services - we have to inform each other of any change which affects our partnerhip.
