After reading many posts on the subject of industry specific names
I decided to register two names

FobWatch.com and FobWatches.com

Now I am sure 75% of members have never even heard of a Fob Watch.

Still it is a specific term for a specific watch. It is not a Wrist Watch, Stop Watch or Divers Watch etc, get my point?

Was the $18 wasted? Or will collectors/buyers of Fob Watches help keep my $18 safe?

MP, you mean imitation watches?

It's kinda weird to display your collection of imitation Tag Hauers to the public, but I guess some people are weird.

To sell fake brand watches on a public internet site is suicide, IMO.

Yo Mate: I, too, think the names will be viewed as the sites of a new immigrant monitoring agency. On this side of the pond we refer to such a timepiece as a "pocket watch." In fact, me Mum just gave me Grandpa's last holiday season!!

yup, means pocket watch in the uk. Fob has a different meaning here, not a positive one for a company. But a big chunk of the internet business is in the US, so it shouldn't affect the value too much.

FobWatch.com and FobWatches.com are nice domain names (and yes, it helps that I know what a "fob watch" is)

Unlike 99% of the domains offered for appraisal on this forum, the domains actually map DIRECTLY to a targeted key-expression for the niche industry your domains address.

In other words, people selling/buying/collecting fob watches would see the domain name and instantly understand it.

In other words, it's not some made up piece of junk "branding" domain.

That's not to say it's worth a LOT, given the tiny size of the niche. But to a specialist shop or manufacturer, the pair could be worth $500-1,000 - that's IF you can track down a buyer and close a deal, of course!
