Nameserver registration at ICANN

Can someone please help me with this.
I recently started a free webhosting site.
I am told by godaddy & other registrars that my clients cannot point their domains at my nameservers until these nameservers are registered at ICANN. I have no clue how to do this & ICANN are not replying.
Please help, thanks.

You register nameservers at your registrar, not ICANN. What registrar is the domain at? Maybe I can point you with a link.

After registration, check the nameserver whois at www.internic.net to check if it is complete.

I've never done it at godaddy but here's there help article for it.

You will be entering something like

ns1.yourdomain.com 123.99.99.998
ns2.yourdomain.com 123.99.99.999

but use your domain name and the IP's given to you by your host.
