Need Examples of Big Companies and Premium Domains

i'm trying to spread the gospel of domains , and want to give some examples of big companies who were smart enough to buy the premium domains of their categories.

For example:

Movies.com is owned by Disney
Asthma.com / Diabetes.com owned by GlaxoSmithKline


would love some more examples - they don't have to be huge companies like the example above.


Also - ignoring tasting, does anyone know how many domains are being registered each day / month and how many total are registered now?

I had read that just over 100K domains are reg'd every month and roughly 80K are dropped each month. I have no idea if tasing is included in that figure but it seems it would have to be.

Pretty sure the 100K refers to domains that are kept, not tested and dropped. I think more than that are registered on a daily basis to be tested.
