Hiyall,

I have a site which gets hundreds of requests a day for this URL in my cgi-bin -

/cgi-bin/topsites

How on earth can I serve this - I tried a simple redirect script, called it topsites.cgi, topsites.pl and just topsites but none of them were recognised at www.xyz.com/cgi-bin/topsites

Error log shows -

script not found or unable to stat: xyz/cgi-bin/topsites

Any ideas?

1. Do your host support .cgi and .pl ?
2. cgi-bin is special folder, it's created by default. If you create it manually then your host don't support it or it's not enabled for your account.
3. Have you chmod both files to 755 ? also chmod the directory.
4. Check my signature. :D

when the URL xyz/cgi-bin/topsites is requested, its actually requesting a FOLDER call topsites .

if you want to redirect it, rename your script to "topsites", WITHOUT THE EXTENSIONS.
