I am not big into parking but always wondered if there is a difference in how the search engines rank a name (assuming it's ranked at all) based on if they detect a redirection/forwarding to the parking firm, or see it's using the parking firm nameservers?

In other words, if Yahoo knows the nameserver is ns1.parking.com vs a simple 301/302 redirect (using your own NS) do they perhaps penalize or position it lower in the Serps knowing it is parked whereas with the redirect they do not realize it's parked?

It's better to use NS for SE. But, of course, all nameservers of oldschool PPC companies are in black lists.

most parking companies name servers are banned with google. since google accounts for almost 3/4th of traffic overall on the web then you better think twice about the way you host your name if you want to keep it in good standing with the engines.

setup a framed redirect or something if you are parking with sedo, namedrive, domainsponsor, etc... it's easy and simple.

Do you think all the parking firms including places like goldkey, trafficz, etc are banned or penalized by msn, google and yahoo?

A problem is there is a lot more work involved with setting up redirections or framing than simple nameservers change. Thanks.

by google, yes...they are banned'

not sure about the others

of course there is more work involved but then again there is no other way to retain the se traffic and it's something you really want to do for keyword domains... host em on your own server and you will be happy later on that you did so :)

you can still use NameServers and not Get Blacklisted..

If you have a domain at ENOM simply register your own nameservers for that domain.

NS1.YOURDOMAIN.COM
NS2.YOURDOMAIN.COM

and point them to the IPs of SEDOPARKING NameServers.

Dont Believe me? well test it out.
