.NET v .ORG

ok so the .com i want has gone but the .org and .net are available.

Now I could buy both, but it's not for an investment, just a hobby site I have in mind.

which should i buy. I might want to sell a service I provide through the site. But typical sales might only be $20 each.

Which do you think is better the .NET or the .ORG?


I used to think that the .org was edgier, less in the shadow of the .com where the .net is more in the shadow... now I'm not so sure.

Which do people think is the better TLD in general and for my usage as described above?

I am a fan of .org, but in this case I would go with the .net, or just find a unique .com for your site.

[ I appreciate you contributing to this and my other threads - I've started to become addicted to this forum - am in the process of buying dnf and upgrading and becoming verified - hopefully that will all work out soon so that i'll have more forums to explore ]

I think the .net might sound better for branding.

I feel like buying both the .org and .net, but I'll feel more depressed that I don't own the .com then :uhoh: a little crazy, I know, but maybe just owning the .net will save my sanity over this project. LOL.

Register both or neither
How much are you paying to register each?
You can often get good deals on new dot nets
Sometimes even dot org
And keep exploring the forum as there is a thread somewhere where a kind soul will upgrade you from gold to plat for free

I can get both the .net and .org for about $8. will think about what to do.

I saw the thread about upgrading - i don't think that they're doing it anymore!?
Couldn't last forever, although it would have been very nice.
