The most important part of a domain name is always what comes BEFORE the dot (at least among gTLDs).

Surely not as valuable as .com, but especially if these are requested terms and some search engine optimization is done, you can be quite happy with it.

Also there are alot of .ws domain names still available, are those frowned upon, is there a catch to those domain names?

Don't even think about it ... one day, every .net registrant will get a cease-and-desist letter from their attorney, asking us to surrender our domain names. :D
