Lots of Pokemon domains are being registered in domains other than .com.

Last week Elliot Silver at DomainInvesting wrote about the surge in .com and .net registrations including the word “Pokemon”. At the time, nearly 4,000 .com and .net domains had been registered.

As of this morning, that number has grown to over 7,000 for the month, with 6,300+ in .com.

But .com and .net aren’t the only top level domains benefitting from the Pokemon Go craze. GoDaddy shared a breakdown of Pokemon registrations by top level domain name. Although it didn’t provide raw numbers, GoDaddy is the biggest domain name registrar by far, which puts it in perspective.

TLD
Share %
com 73.82%
net 6.33%
info 3.90%
co.uk 3.71%
org 3.48%
co 1.84%
us 1.51%
ca 1.09%
eu 1.06%
in 0.72%
club 0.59%
mobi 0.50%
xyz 0.47%
de 0.42%
biz 0.28%
online 0.28%

Registering Pokemon domains might not be a good move, however. It’s a trademark.
