I will post some more details through the week.

PLEASE NOTE: Platinum and Gold Members will not lose any of their existing features.

This membership will offer many NEW features....

I will list a few features:

All Titanium members will be screened thoroughly and proof of who you are will be required by fax to ensure that anyone who buys from you will feel much more comfortable and secure in there transaction. No more ouch.com again.

Many names caught in drops by dnforum.com will be put for sale in the Titanium forums and those that are not taken will go to dnfauctions after 24 hours.

There will be a section where dnforum.com will post names that are dropping and what we are willing to guarantee to pay you if you catch them.

There will be commercial forums setup for many key players in the industry where they can respond to users questions and concerns.

Please also feel free to post anything you feel that would be a great addition in this area.

Access to discounts from key players in industry will also be provided.

Price and other specs announced later.

Neat. :) Although, how about "Diamond" memberships, instead of Titanium??

How about calling the new memberships:

Profesisonal Member

To clearly differentiate from the "mineral" memberships. This isn't your daddy's country club.

To be recognized as a "Professional" is to elevate the "Domainer" to a higher level of ethics and obviously professionalism. A diamond or titantium status isn't professional in my humble opinion.

I will go out on a limb here, and also suggest that only 18 and older get the "professional" status. (sorry) No offense to anyone younger, but you really can't be a professional until you are at least out of high school.

Um, I like to think of myself as professional and I don't have to pay anyone any money either. I don't think it's cool to offer that as a membership option. Platinum is more expensive then Titanium so you need Diamonds or something better for the name.

Hmmm... maybe lawyers, doctors, and other professionals have it all wrong then. Instead of being listed in "Professional Directories", they should instead have a "Diamond" listing because it is better than platinum??

Go back to playing "Pacman" or something Jh3. I'm making concrete suggestions here. :-D

Looks like they are going to be called "Titanium" from the looks of things. The forum stats show "2" titanium members already.

I will pass... (for now anyways).

... that is a great promotion to "upgrade". Gee .. I thought by the "sell" from the past, that Platinum was the top level. I guess as long as there are more precious (spelling) metals ... DNF can keep adding levels, with ever increasing "offers" to make each level more endearing. Where does the Pyramid stop?

Izopod,

I too like professional better than Titanium and it will be changed tomorrow.

Those with negative comments about the new membership level can rest assured you have nothing to worry about as you will not be forced/asked to upgrade and will remain unaffected.

But it will be a professional membership.

Just my two cents, but why not axe the live auctions (once a major selling point for Platinum) and give these features free to platinum members?

Or give these features for free to platinum members who:

Show proof of ID
Have a high # of posts
Spend a lot of time on the forum
Have had good feedback from other members etc.

Could use one of those or all to find "Exclusive" members.

Exclusive it is then. Not a bad choice.

As far as offering new memberships, it's no different then any other online company offering a new service. Those that don't innovate and grow tend to end up on the auction block at a deep discounted price. I see DCG move as a smart business decision that will benefit members who choose to upgrade to the new service.
