No, not quite, it's still Sedo, but quite a bit has changed overnight!

Better earnings, more detailed statistics, and website-like page layouts add up to more money for you!

Based upon the tremendous success of our professional domain parking program, SedoPro, we will be introducing a number of upgrades and improvements to the Sedo Parking Program over the coming weeks. New features to look for include:

More detailed statistical tools: Sort your domains into portfolios for quicker analysis. Find out where your visitors are coming from and where they’re clicking on your pages. Identify domains needing optimization, and view trends in your portfolio performance.

Website-like page layouts: Help make your visitors feel at home with one of four colorful new page designs. Select matching photos to customize the look and feel of your parking pages.

Better earnings: First, we’re now passing more of the earnings on to you. Sure, this means less revenue for us, but we’re hoping you’ll tell your friends about all of the money you’re making with Sedo parking, so they’ll park with us too! Second, we’re now using a new feed from our advertising provider, which will impact both CTR and CPC for many keywords. Although our tests show that the new feed performs better overall, some tens of thousands of keywords will perform better than on our existing feed, and a small number will perform worse. Thus, you’ll want to double-check your optimization to make sure that you’ve picked the most relevant keyword possible, and follow the advice in our Guide to Choosing Money-Making Keywords.

Most of the new features will be launched this week, but the shift to the new advertiser feed will be gradually phased in over the coming weeks. Thus, you may see some dramatic fluctuations in your parking revenue over the next couple of weeks. Please don’t panic! Although there will be a bit of an adjustment period, we know that the new feed does earn more money—and we will be passing even more of it on to you than we do now. So make sure to double-check that your keywords are focused, relevant, highly-commercial terms. It may take a few adjustments of keyword to find the right fit for each of your domains. If in doubt, please don’t hesitate to contact Sedo Support at [email protected], or [email protected] if outside the US.

Kind regards,

Brad

Does this apply to sedo.de as well ?

I don't see any announcements about this on the .de version of Sedo.

I just checked my Sedo account and discovered this:

Apparently you cannot optimize (=pick layouts) for domains in your account that haven't received traffic yet.

Called german customer support, they didn't know for 100% but assumed it is indeed on purpose.Apparently it was made so users with a big portfolio had it "easier" to manage.

Hmm..

Ever had the idea that certain domains haven't received any traffic because they were just aquired or, like in my case, because they have not been redirected to Sedo parking yet just because of the fact that so far there were no layouts available on Sedo but these are domains i want a layout for so that's why i redirected them to a different parking provider ?

Which means, for all domains that i *do* want to use Sedo's layouts i have to redirect them to the general Sedo parking page *first* and *then* wait for their first hit in order to finally be able to pick a layout.

How complicated is that ?!

I would have to check my portfolio over and over again to see which (new) ones have received traffic and which not so i can optimize them.

Bad idea.

Almost every parking provider i have checked in the last weeks offers optimizing and layout options for ALL domains within the account, no matter if the name has received any traffic yet or not.

I really hope it's just a technical bug - if it's not, Sedo should really think this over.

Hi beatz,

This is something I've noticed, as well. It is, in fact, a bug. Of course, some would argue you can't properly optimize the domain without knowing where the traffic is coming from, where visitors are clicking, etc. However, I believe (and am not alone in this) that you should be able to optimize to a certain exent (at least choose a keyword and layouts) before you begin receiving traffic.

Our tech team is informed and is currently working on it.

Kind regards,

Brad
