Our programmers have been working for weeks on a new php shopping cart.
This cart is being developed by us with tons of features many of which are unique.
This project started when we could not find a cart php or otherwise which could do everything we required. We outsourced the initial cart development and have been using it for about 1.5 years but it just doesnt meet our standards so we decided to do it ourselves.
This feature packed cart will be released to the general public this fall. The cart will be free however there will be many additional modules/features which will be paid products. We will also be offering customization and installation services.
Beta testers will receive a free version of the cart as well as all of the optional accessories. Although we have not settled on the pricing at this point it is fair to say the additional modules will total around $500. Beta testers will receive these modules at no charge.
Can be used as POS (point of sale) where the sales rep can login using his account and write and order from his workstation. We will be using this feature at our retail locations.
I have listed some of the features below:
1) Can define top-level and subcategories.
2) Can define product images (result list, detailed page, and additional)
3) Can define product options w/ price differentials.
4) Can define product options which can be bound. (That is: selecting
8'x10' Gable will make certain options from other drop downs
disappear)
5) Customer Reviews (must be accepted by an admin to appear on the homepage)
6) Can manage a distributor listing and associate a distributor w/ a product.
7) What's new product generator.
8) Search products
9) Category breadcrumb.
10) Templated system allows easy changes to the system look without
having modify PHP code.
11) Search result pagination
12) Selecting options automatically adjusts the displayed price of a product.
13) Individual category and product templates.
14) Customer accounts
15) Customers can view order history and print out invoices.
16) Customers can manage multiple billing and shipping addresses.
17) Contact Us page
18) Lead tracking
19) Object Oriented Design
20) Options displayed in cart for each product.
21) Soft deleting of products and categories allow you to restore
stuff that you accidentally deleted.
22) Admin can toggle the visibility of a category or product on the webpage.
23) When logged in, an admin may browse the site as a user yet access
admin features.
24) Can manage tax rates for each state.
25) Can manage shipping rates by zone, weight, etc.
26) Admin processing of orders.
27) Template functions sanitize output by default so that javascript
injection attacks can't be performed on the site.
We are adding new features but felt it was a good time to beta test and work out any bugs.
