Helloooooo gang,

Me -- Lifetime member Newbie -- can't figure out how to break down a photo of myself, or a rabid raccoon, or sponge bob, to fit the size of an avatar to upload. I'm not an idiot, (debatable in some circles), and I have photoshop Elements to reduce that dang jpeg -- but nothing drops below 10k in size.

ANyone have any ideas? I have an iMac using OSX Jaguar system w/safari browser, although that shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Help the Newbie stop crying and get an avatar!

Thank you to all those with some sympathy and needing an opportunity to up their karma.

Try saving the image using the save to web option instead of save as. Then on the jpegs mess with the output settings to try and get it to only output the image with the colors needed instead of a full pallette.

Feel free to email me the avatar you are trying to use and I will see what I can do for you tomorrow morning.
Are you sure the limit is 10k?

Maybe the mods can add your avatar for you manually seeing you are an exclusive member.

:hint: :hint:

Change it to a gif, it'll drop the size.
