Newspaper Related Domain Name

Hello...

what are your thoughts on city newspaper names...

these are just examples, not real names looking into......

houstonchronicle.com
or
nydailynews.com
or
bostondailynews.com
or
atlantachronicle.com

would these domains have a trademark issue if there was a city with a newspaper with a same name as the domain someone owned. Would things change if the PPC links were related to the city......
