I am curious as to how you all feel about four digit dot info (NNNN.info) domains. Last month I checked on available NNNN.info domains and there were 5,675 remaining (as of 7-27). With all the new .info registration promotions going on this summer, including Enom's $0.75 reseller price promotion, I expected to see a big chunk of these removed. After a quick scan using DNOA, I was surprised to see there are still 5,148 remaining NNNN.info domains (as of 8-30):

0000 - 0999: 478
1000 - 1999: 0
2000 - 2999: 71
3000 - 3999: 52
4000 - 4999: 691
5000 - 5999: 800
6000 - 6999: 802
7000 - 7999: 626
8000 - 8999: 790
9000 - 9999: 838
Total: 5,148

Still more than half of the NNNN.info domains remain unregistered. At one point last year, there were less than 3,330 available NNNN.info domains - but many of those regs were attributed to Afilias' 25 free .info "giveaway" promotion in 2004.

Do you think we will see all of the NNNN.info domains taken at some point? Or do you think that if they weren't all registered when new .info regs cost less than $1, they may never be?

Look at two recent sales threads today - one offering nnnn.info's for $25 a piece (not selling any), the other for $3-6 each average. Add in the proposed pricing change, and I don't foresee anyone buying them all up any time soon.

you can also buy some with repeating numbers like ABAB.info, they may as good as AABB.info

I ran a quick scan to update how many of these are available as of right now:

0000 - 0999: 390
1000 - 1999: 0
2000 - 2999: 38
3000 - 3999: 50
4000 - 4999: 659
5000 - 5999: 732
6000 - 6999: 757
7000 - 7999: 795
8000 - 8999: 756
9000 - 9999: 798
Total: 4,975

So currently, over half of the NNNN.info domains have been taken. 4,975 of the 10,000 possible combinations remain available to register. At the current rate of registration, we're still a long, long way from seeing them all gone. Perhaps if a new, extended .INFO promo ran again we could see a big dent in these.

And a reminder to those of you making comments, the original question posed is "Will we see all of the NNNN.info domains taken/registered at some point?"
