Hello fellow Domainers,

I just thought of an idea which ‘may’ make sense for some or most of us.

How about making a domain parking co-op?

We the domainers can make a ppc co-op service which we can use to park our domains.
This non-profit coop can be funded via a part (lets say 10% or 15% or x%etc) of our parking earnings. It will be responsible for providing, maintaining and innovating the domain parking system for us all the members. It will provide us the necessary tools to park and earn income.

It will have a professional code of conduct established and members can vote online on issues, ideas, budget, employee salaries, etc.

I will not mind if a reputable company like DNForum.com or a reputable person like DCG (who always thinks in the best interest of us all the domainers) can lead this activity as a perk for the premium and exclusive members. It will help them raise more members and help our coop become huge.

This huge co-op can then be in a better position to negotiate bigger cuts with google and yahoo for the revenue sharing as this coop will have millions of daily uniques.

Just exploring the idea.

Please list your thoughts.

Thanks,

Rick Kumar

Hitfarm is pretty established, however not "non-profit" as far as I know.

Steen any idea of when HitFarm is going to allow public signups or do you have to send them an email? Their page has been blank for quite a while now.

My thoughts are, the more public a program, the harder it is to control the quality of traffic. Advertisers have demands from Overture, Overture has demands from it's search partners, search partners have demands from their publishers.

IMO,
Public program = less quality traffic.

PS: Rick, aside from the (hopefully constructive) criticism, it's a great idea. If it can be implemented effectively, I would be very impressed.
