It means exactly what it says. Yes, it will drop.

So I should ignore the messages 'Expiration Date: 01-May-2004' and 'Status:HOLD'?

And, '[email protected]' is only some kind of humor?

If it says pending delete then it will definately drop. Ignore the expiration date.
The last updated date is important. Orgs used to drop 5 or 6 days after this date. It now looks as though they will drop at any time within 30 days of this date. You'll just have to keep a close eye on it.

For org domains, if the status is "PENDING DELETE," then the domain is in the redemption grace period and will drop, regardless of the expiration date, unless it is restored. As for the expiration date, a registrar can delete a domain at any time, regardless of the expiration date. Most registrars renew the domain, and optionally, put it on hold, to give the owner a chance to renew the domain, and if the owner doesn't renew the domain after a certain period of time, the registrar deletes it. All org domains have either a status of "HOLD" or "CLIENT HOLD" along with "PENDING DELETE," which just means the domain will not be included in the zone file. As for "[email protected]," if you see "SEE SPONSORING REGISTRAR," then the registration data is not available, and you should check the registrar's WHOIS server for the registration data, but if the domain is in the "PENDING DELETE" status, it's probably not in the registrar's WHOIS server anyway. Right now, they are in the process of centralizing the WHOIS database, so eventually you won't have to check the registrar's WHOIS server anymore.

Thank you Ed30 and ToastyX, you are right, such cases are all .org's. :)

Check the .org at www.pir.org and see if it says "pending delete - restorable"? That's one clue. The second is that when PIR took over the .org's in January, almost all of the contact e-mail addresses automatically became "[email protected]" at both the original registrar's WHOIS and Network Solution's WHOIS.
And none of them are dropping anyway until approx. July 7th when the process will begin anew!
