So there is a domain I've been watching for years, and it is owned by Microsoft.

A couple years back, before they were using a domain management company, I was able to get in contact with someone at that department in Microsoft. He was supposed to check on the plans for the domain (if any) and get back with me but I think he is no longer there now.

Does anyone have any experience or have contacts there at Microsoft's domain department on how to at least inquire about buying the domain from them? I keep hitting dead ends.

FYI - it has nothing to do with any Microsoft specific terms - and still am not sure why they even own it.

If it's owned by MSFT, forget it. If it belongs to a company acquired by MSFT, wait out a few years; they will eventually drop it.

I can ask about this domain name for you. No funny business, I waill ask a decision maker. You definetely CAN buy a domain name from Microsoft. They sell domain names
they dont need, they treat them all as assets, and will be asking Moniker auction prices.
If interested email to sales at local storm dot com
