Wow, you are really on the roll here.

Officeintranet.com is a good name to launch a portal on how to set one up. It's the way of the future, particularly for the SMEs. You may achieve a lot of revenue through affiliate programs. I suggest you enter into one with innerhost.com, that's where they are targeting with their MS SharePoint hosting.

You may gain more revenue by developing this site than selling it. Once developed, its a natural sell for SharePoint services.

btw... for those of you who don't know InnerHost, I have used them for 4 years now and their service and technical knowhow is superb if you are into the Microsoft thingy. No Linux servers for me :dead:

Hi Mole. Really glad that you liked the domain.

The fact that it had no overture- inventory count made me think twice, but I went for it. After your appraisal, I am glad I regd. it.
Other possible synonyms like corporate intranet ,business intranet, company intranet were all taken. Very well pollinated on all tlds.

I need some advise. How do I develop the domain into a site. I have no indepth knowledge/ domain expertise on Intranets. What should I be doing ? What would be the revenue channels be when I develop a site/ portal ( other than the affiliate revenue from intranet service providers)?

I have checked Inner Host. Thanks for the info. I will definetely consider them, when i start looking for web space providers.

Thanks and regards,

Arvind

Well, as a domain seller, you first need to know the basics of developing a domain into a site. A site that is alive adds a whole lot of imagination and inspiration to the buyer. I recommend MS FrontPage 2002 as your first investment into knowing. Master it well, and it is simple to master :) I develop rather impressive (hahahahahaa) extranets for my clients pretty easily with FP although I don't know the first thing about coding :D I wish I could show you examples, but I am cloaked, sorry.

Alternatively, there are a lot of really savvy designers in India that could knock out an impressive site with very affordable costs.

On intranets, you don't need to know nothing really. Check out http://sharepoint.innerhost.com/. It all off the shelf, and SharePoint rocks! Many of my clients, including IT specialists, are just bowled over by the functionality at such a ridiculously low cost. To code such a similar model will require big bucks, so many IT people just back off and are humble.

What would be the revenue channels be when I develop a site/ portal ( other than the affiliate revenue from intranet service providers)?

Focus on promoting MS SharePoint - be a specialist site. Chances of you going wrong on this are marginal, since I've received great appraisals of the product from end-users. Maybe one day, Microsoft will buy it off you. Good luck!
