OK, I've now seen this about a dozen times, here and elsewhere, and I'm wondering "What's the deal"?

The Ad: "I'm looking for a good domain name dealing with Widgets and Coffee. Must be .com, no dashes".

A stream of replies come in, some perfectly matching the request:

WidgetCoffee.com
CoffeeWidget.com
CoffeeWidgets.com
WidgetsAndCoffee.com

Either there is no reply from the poster, or it will be this:

"I don't like any of these, I'm looking for something like WidgetBoom".

HUH???

I think some people like to pretend they are buyers...

You figure out who is and who isnt the longer you stick around...

For what it's worth the only name I have ever sold through the wanted section was a $10 name; I also try my best to comply to exactly what the person is looking for, unlike a lot of others.

Go figure.

I rarely do that unless they have an extremly broad request.

Only once I ever had the courtesy of a reply, seems they are bottom fishing, looking for someone to make a mistake and they grab a keeper for almost nothing.

Good point. This also annoys me. Are we not worth their time and $$$ to have them copy and paste certain names?

Hey guys! I have agreed with everything you have said here- but in the past!

Since the new mods came on board, we have been working really hard to improve that section.

In fact, there has been some brisk sales activity going on there! As AhmedF said, he and several others have had great success either buying or selling domains there! It's working!

And remember, the new Exclusive members (with big $$$) will be posting names they want, names they are selling, as well as looking in there for names to buy just like AhmedF did!

So..... why not help out? IF you notice a problem, PLEASE, bring it to our attention!

Maybe we should consider not allowing responders to simply post a link to a list. What do you think?

Help us make that a better, more profitable forum!

I just sold a name for $200 in the domains wanted area about 2 weeks ago to YoLointernet. I had the same sentiments before that transaction.

lol

I did that when I was new to DNF and domains.

I posted a name in the wanted section for like $20 to recoup my costs..

Later I sold it for $700.

Thanksfully no one bought the name from the wanted post :)

It appears the wanted section is used a lot to generate DNF$
