ActiveWeb Media Group, Inc., an online development/holding company that's building a large-scale network of financial and business related sites, is looking to hire some Apprentices. We're looking to hire 2-3 people for the following positions:

Web Marketing Apprentice
The Promotion Apprentice's main duties include assisting with SEO and and paid advertising efforts on 4-5 of our websites. More specific duties may include a combination of the following:
SEO
  • Keyword/competition research
  • Monitoring and reporting on search engine placement
  • Carrying out link building or other proprietary SEO strategies
Paid Advertising
  • Locating the best advertising opportunities
  • Assisting in development of creative campaigns

Bottom line, this individual will assist in getting short-term and long-term traffic within fiercely competitive financial markets. Also, preparing (up to several times per week) reports/write-ups and updates on promotional efforts may be required.
This position will report to me and will work closely with our webmasters.

Webmaster Apprentice
The Webmaster Apprentice will be responsible for the overall on-page success and quality of up to 4 web properties The general duties of this position include:
  • Maintaining, editing and uploading content (and managing writing team)
  • Researching competition and suggesting site updates/changes
  • Moderating any user submitted content through forums or wikis
  • Organizing site layout through back-end CMS
  • Answering emails and user questions
  • (possibly) project/development management of new properties
  • Analyzing and reporting on visitor statistics, etc.

Bottom line, this position is responsible for making our websites the best looking/functioning and most informative sites in their niches.
This position will work closely with the Promotion Apprentice, development/design team and will report directly to me.

Requirements (for both)
These individuals must both be extremely accountable, have a strong work ethics and be highly productive (and able to stay in constant contact through IM)
General knowledge of the internet and how web development/promotion/monetization works with a minimum of 6 months experience in some form of online business is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, the positions may involve a great deal of writing.
Ability to work somewhat set hours

Pluses (but not requirements)
Knowledge of a programming language (HTML, JS, PHP, etc.)
Knowledge of SEO strategies
Existing contacts with developers, promoters and other website owners

These apprenticeship/internship positions are really a chance to learn from me (the president/founder of the company) and my team. The internship period will be 4-8 months and pay will be relatively low during this time. However, individuals are permitted (and encouraged) to build their own business and learn as much as possible. Our experienced team is available for free consultation and advice throughout the internship period. Additionally, positions in-house in beautiful Orange County, CA may be available early next year to apprentices who show better-than-average skills/interest in the business.
