This is something I have seen lately. Seems that there is only attention given to two and three character domains. I have seen 3 letter domain going for $XXXX+ on forums and marketplaces, yet even the highly generic domains are barely moving at all. I find it a little odd, due to the lack of monetary potential of these domains, or keyword value. :?:

Any ideas?

I am still seeing a great mix of generics and domains in many extensions selling on Sedo, TDNAM, and others. Along with the occasional WTF??? domain.

Like...
SocialWorkJobs.co.uk €7,900 = $10,744

which sold in the last couple of weeks
That would be a good one.

Along with guaranteedengines.com $2,505

I would think a typo of the above might actually get more traffic than the actual domain. That is from TDNAM who is now the leader in bullshit icons and false stats to pump up expired/expiring GoDaddy domains. I used to sell on TDNAM but not anymore. GREAT domain names are so far buried under PimpDaddy's hype that they go ignored. Look at the MOST ACTIVE AUCTIONS. Only 10 of the first 50 are privately held.

That's 80% belonging to GoDaddy with bids. Talk about some laughable domains.

Here's some other notable one that have sold on TDNAM:

liveatthisaddressnow.com $1,020

Currently on TDNAM.com

naughtyally.com 1023 16 $3,000 5D 5H
plies.com 5405 6 $1,105 3D 3H
ticketvault.com 478 20 $555 1D 6H
tonsoflyrics.com 18717 18 $505 2D 3H
borderzone.com 1184 17 $255 5H 52M
downloadfonts.net 1149 9 $238 4H 9M
fabolousposters.com 930 7 $230 1H 46M
lonelycanuck.com 5896 7 $230 4D 4H

A few good ones.

I know lyrics are hot but these are stats supplied by GoDaddy.com. I have seen some of my own that I have dropped so grossly overinflated with traffic stats.

My favorite? If -=DCG=- has a little bit of change left over from the purchase of DNF.com, he should jump on this.

Then again, all the lonely canucks are already members so it would be a waste of money :pound:

I don't get any sales through tdnam, and I don't like their interface, or anything about the site really.

I haven't seen one 3 or even 4 character .com go unnoticed on this board. I am just wondering what value people see in these domains.

3 letter domains rarely become available and the acronyms can be used for businesses that want to have short url's.

the same goes for 4 letter domains as they become more scarce.

that is why they are valuable

not to mention the LL anything...

Whoa...

You don't see any sales thanks to people not seeing your names. You have TDNAM/GoDaddy to thank for all the hype and BS they put on their names. And the buyers are biting them...hook, line, and sinker.

I have sold over 500 on TDNAM but that was when they started out and valued private sellers. Then they figured Bob Parsons needs a new 2 carat stud and the price of SuperBowl ads and bimbos goes up so they decided to recycle the millions of domains that PimpDaddy was losing. They have a never ending supply of their own garbage so there is no need for the private sales anymore. 100% of their own sales goes to their coffers whereas $5.00 minimum from private sales.

I have not used that site for sales in perhaps 12 months now. Nor have I bought any since the fiasco of selling unexpired domain names that did not even belong to them.

Noticed I made a mistake, of course I am speaking about 3 and 4 characters domains, not 2 and 3 character domains.
