Open your hearts, open your wallet.

Many of you may know what I do for living, many don’t, most probably don’t care.

I have been a staunch supporter of dot mobi (and .com and many others).
Most of all, I am a staunch supporter of human life.

I work at two different hospitals where I frequently cover the Emergency Department. One is a more rural hospital in Mt. Airy, NC…yes, the home and birthplace of Andy Griffith. And yes, there really is a Mayberry. And yes, Thelma Lou (Betty Lynn) does live here.

Last Wednesday night, Thanksgiving Eve, was a horrible night for everyone involved.

Here is a link to the story:

http://www.wxii12.com/news/14672620/detail.html

Myself and a team of perhaps 20 medical professionals worked feverishly non-stop for more than 2.5 hours in efforts to revive the young girls.

It has been exceptionally difficult for all involved.

I had been in contact with Elliot Silver of Elliots Blog (ElliotsBlog.com) regarding some issues. I mentioned this tragedy to him.

Elliot has a thing on his blog mentioning charities…reg a name, donate to a charity. I was surprised and elated (if that is a proper perspective for this) to see Elliot post in his blog this episode. I was not aware of the difficulty facing the family of not being able to afford tombstones or even the overall funeral expenses. So all kudos to Elliot for providing me with an update.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of you to do something sure to make you feel good.

The story omitted the zip code. Here is the complete address:

The Cain Family
183 Wayne Street
Mount Airy, NC 27030

If you take what you would pay on registering domains a daily basis and give to this family or take the amount you would have spent on a domain auction but didn’t win, I am sure their immediate needs would be met. Who cares if we pay too much. I am not sure there is such a thing as too much charity for this family in this situation.

I am very furious at the parents of the 2 sisters after I read the story! They are irresponsible for taking good care and guidance of young children of such age. :upset:

Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

And I can not stress enough how utterly fantastic it is to see other professional domainers like Elliott take the time to mention it on his site.

not saying you're trying to scam here, but these are the rules as is.

18. No charity/fundraising posts. Too many scams. You may have a well know charity in your signature, that is it.
