Hello,

I'm new to the domain world. A lot time times, I see .com, .net., .info, or even .biz is gone for certain names. But .org remains available. Is there any reason for it? Is .org tranferrable to another person? Is there any special rules applies to .org?

Edit: Could a mod move this to the newbie section?

Depend on how you use the domain?

I prefer info as well for generic terms. ORG makes me think non-profit, non-commercial. That's it's purpose and typically how it is used by organizations.

I don't know which ext would have more type-ins (if you have both dn.info and dn.org). Info might become the next alternative to .com. I believe that is the intended goal and seems like slowly it is getting there. IMHO.

Cheers.

.org regardless IMO.
The main reason is the huge number of spammers using dot info. From email spammers to spambots.

in term of value, .org seems to worth more. But personally, I think .info is better.

.org for sure unless you have a location type .info like NewYork.info...those rock.

.org is like a stock that has already made the jump so now is more expensive to buy...

.info is still priced low yet has the best upward potential of all the .TLDs. It's like buying a biotech stock right before they announce they have invented a new drug :)

Generally .org is worth more.
.info best for geo domains, but also so many other things.
most words you come up with, an info normally makes more sense than .org imo
However .org has some monster sales under it's belt, info has a ceiling on it, it seems at the moment.
definitely has the most upward potential it seems to me & info is wildly underpriced in general.
org gets more traffic in general, that's another plus.
each to his own. both solid extensions :)

.info has the stronger growth potential imo.

I always think non-profit also with .org

For terms which suit the .info extension better, I prefer .info
