Hoping to get some input from UK residents: what's the value of the .org.uk? Is it being used/advertised? any notable sales?

Thanks.

hi dveStores well .org.uk domains do not have much value and they are not used that much. me personaly i do not see any value on them, but you normaly see them used by non profit or charitable organaisations.

This is just personal oppenion i am not an expert, people might disagree.

thanks FritaLover

.org.uk is not used for ANY UK websites that I know of, and is even rarely used for UK non-profit orgs.

ok, thanks for the replies..I did some research and saw that the majority of .org.uk's were nonprofits...very few were businesses (like 1 or 2 I found). I was offered 3 letter .org.uk's for a decent price and was wondering if they were worth buying...guess not. Any other input is welcome.

I agree with the above comments, I bet there are even 3 letter .org.uk's still available for registration.

It's not a popular ext at all.

Quite frankly I don't think .org.uk is really worth much, even with a meaningful keyword. I would personally not use even .org unless this is actually for non-profit use.
Perhaps you may be interested in .uk statistics to have an idea of how widespread the extension is:

That's simply not the case, Most UK charities and organisations use .org.uk.

RSPCA (rspca.org.uk)
English Heritage (English-heritage.org.uk)
RSPB (rspb.org.uk)
The National Trust (nationaltrust.org.uk)

... and the list goes on and on.

There's nothing the matter with .org.uk, it's established, widely used and heavily advertised.

Are they valuable? For development, yes, $$$ wise, no (at least not yet)

I am a little more optimistic on .org.uk but definately only for the strongest of terms with development potential. I have had in terest in a few of mine including prescriptions.org.uk, passports.org.uk, and exports.org.uk. I am holding for offers that are not lowball (below $100). Prescriptions.org.uk has had various offers in $100-$300 range. Hope this helps.

I think they're good if you're doing adwords for UK audience and want a domain that looks trustworthy... Guy from here.org.uk has a few he uses. Also good for UK SERP rankings :).

Saying that only one I own is to get type-in traffic looking for the .org site rather than .org.uk... Gets about 20 visits a day.
