this snipet is from our local opinion page in the paper..
(some kid was kicked out of school for carrying a knife)
"The problem with the zero tolerance policy is that the schools not only ban knives specifically, despite whether they are tools, but that they demonize knives to the children so that children are indoctrinated with the idea that a knife is evil. For those of us who grew up in schools where everyone carried a knife and played various playground games with those knives, this is distressing."

I think the guy meant well but it sure didnt come out right...
